How to Start Your Monday Right

It is Monday, a new week and all that.  Something about Mondays makes it feels like the opportunity for a fresh start. Starting your Monday right is a good way to make the rest of the week be as productive as possible. I don’t have a complete full proof way of starting your day and week right but I would like to share with you a few things that have helped me over the past as well as new things that I am trying out.

Have A Bed Time (early one)

Having a bedtime as a kid is something that I truly hated but now as an adult, I love going to bed early. Some of my friends tease me about this but honestly, aside from the fact that I love to sleep, it enables to start my day early. I am literally a morning person because of this. I am in bed by 10 pm, for me, I like to rise up at 6 am. By doing this I am able to have a full day and have a good night rest. Of course, things do not always go to plan but when I can you know your girl is going to bed.

Even just one sentence can bring all sorts of emotion.”  This quote by Anthony Gentles could not be truer.  What you invite into your world is really important and can determine how you feel and act. As I have stated in an earlier post, I always like to listen to a podcast or motivational speech after my daily devotion/meditation. This really helps me feel centred and listening to motivational speeches that tell me ” I can do it” works as words of affirmation for me.

As we all know by now, exercising releases endorphins. These chemicals trigger a positive feeling in the body. Aside from helping you to maintain your fitness and overall look, you get to feel good. So if you start your Monday like this, it will help you start to build a habit. Luckily for me, I have a job that allows me to maintain my fitness regime and being in walking to distance to the gym leaves me with no excuse. I love to have my exercise out of the way first thing in my morning. Once this is done I feel like I am ready to take on the day.

Smiling just make you feel better. It is also infectious. Sometimes you have to change your outlook on things. You cannot be downtrodden all the time, there is light at the end of the tunnel after all. Smiling also keeps you looking young so why not try it, its free after all.
